Police Bust Westchester Man With Crack-Cocaine, Heroin During Hotel Stop

A man from New Rochelle is facing drug charges after being busted by police at a Greenburgh hotel in possession of crack-cocaine and heroin he planned to sell.

Members of the Greenburgh Street Crime Unit, Drug and Alcohol Task Force and Detective Division conducted a traffic stop of Devon Ellis, 30, shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Monday night at the Courtyard Marriott on White Plains Road after he was spotted driving a 2016 Hyundai Accent with Massachusetts license plates.

During the stop, police said that Ellis was found to be in possession of 35 plastic twists containing crack-cocaine and 21 glassine envelopes containing envelopes. He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Ellis is currently being held for arraignment at Greenburgh Police Headquarters.
