Neighbor Charged Five Months After Elderly Mount Vernon Woman's Murder

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A Mount Vernon man was charged on Tuesday in the slaying of his 85-year-old neighbor, according to LoHud.com.

Lloyd Lewis, 32, was accused of killing Emma Gruber possibly when she walked in on him trying to steal copper piping, LoHud.com reported.

Lewis had been held on unrelated charges, but will be arraigned on charges stemming from the burglary and death of Gruber on Wednesday, July 30, LoHud.com said.
