MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. ‒ A 27-year-old Mount Vernon woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the alleged asphyxiation death of her newborn son on Aug. 3.

A document from the Mount Vernon City Court released by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office identified the woman as Kadian Gilzeane and said that she had the intent to kill her son.

The baby was killed at 2 a.m. at 8-10 N. 9th Ave., Apt. 3D, according to the court document.

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Felix Reyes, Jr. of Mt. Vernon died May 19. He was 89.

Reyes was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Woonsocket, R.I., to Felix Sr. and Mary Reyes.
