MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- An informational summit for community leaders, educators, youth, clergy and ordinary citizens will take place in Mount Vernon to promote cooperation between the police and the community.
The informational summit will help provide the community with ways to understand the police policy and procedure better, as well as what you can do to make interacting with the Mount Vernon Police Department easier. Individuals are also encouraged to bring concerns and see how you can help in the fight against crime.
The summit is presented by the City of Mount Vernon, Mayor Ernest D. Davis, Police Commissioner Terrance Raynor, and Honorary Second Deputy Commissioner Sean Garner.
The event will be on Saturday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Doles Community Center, 250 South 6th Ave.
