On June 17, Tyron McCallum, 26, who police said is a member of Get Money Gangstas, pleaded guilty to attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a 65-year-old woman last year.
McCallum initially told police that he was a witness to the July 25, 2012 shooting, when 10 shots were fired from a Ruger into a car on East Sidney Avenue. McCallum was found with the gun a week later and was indicted in the attempted murder two months after that.
The victim suffered serious injuries, but eventually recovered. She was an innocent casualty in the gang shooting, police said.
McCallum was one of three Get Money Gangstas to be charged with the attempted murder, along with Kristopher Benjamin, 24 and Travis Clarke, 23. McCallum pled guilty to four felonies, including attempted murder, assault and weapons charges, police said. He faced up to 25 years in prison before his plea.
Clarke was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the shooting, while the case against Benjamin is pending.
