Shortly after 10 a.m. a fire burned inside a Brookside Drive home, damaging the interior of the residence. Firefighters from Pelham and Mount Vernon swiftly had the fire - which was inside a wall – knocked down and under control within the hour.

The exterior of the home was largely undamaged by the fire. It is unknown how much structural damage was done to the interior.

Con Edison crews were on hand to temporarily disconnect power in the area. Volunteers with the Red Cross are assisting a mother and daughter who occupied the residence.
