Man Charged With Credit Card Fraud Targeted Mount Vernon

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A New York City man is facing multiple charges after he was arrested by police in Greenburgh this week, authorities said.

Felipe Lora, 35, of New York City, faces credit card fraud charges after he bought two laptops and an iPad in Westchester, Greenburgh police said.

Felipe Lora, 35, was stopped by members of the Greenburgh Street Crime Unit on Tuesday, Feb. 2, while he was driving a BMWX with New York license plates, police said.

Police said Lora had a fraudulent Connecticut state license with the name Robert Sullivan.

Lora is being charged with using a phony credit card and the fake driver’s license to buy an ipad and laptop worth more than $3,000 from the Best Buy Store in Hartsdale, police said.

Police also accused Lora of making another fraudulent transaction at the Best Buy Store in Mount Vernon where, they said, he bought another laptop valued at more than $2,000.

Lora was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument; fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property; and third-degree grand larceny, all felonies, police said.

Lora was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Feb. 3, but Greenburgh police did not have the results of that arraignment immediately at hand.
