Male Stabbed, Female Assaulted Overnight In Yonkers, Police Say

YONKERS, N.Y. - A man was treated at St. Joseph’s Hospital for an apparent stab wound suffered overnight, according to police.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Friday morning, Yonkers police were dispatched to the hospital, where a 32-year-old male was treated for a stab wound to his abdomen, Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said.

According to police, the victim, a Yonkers resident, was walking with a female companion in the vicinity of Post Street and Elliott Avenue when they were assaulted by a group of male and female suspects, when the victim was stabbed, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Politopoulos said that detectives from the Major Case and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the incident, collecting forensic evidence, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video. Many of the parties involved in the incident are believed to be known to one another.
