MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – A 32-year-old Bronx resident attempting to do tricks on his motorcycle endured a fatal crash early in Mount Vernon on Sunday morning.
According to the police, Lloyd Edmondson was attempting a “wheelie” shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday when he was thrown from his bike, sliding nearly 300 feet before striking a parked car on Gramatan Avenue.
Two police officers were breaking up large groups in the area when they heard the rumble of the engine and the subsequent crash. The Yamaha motorcycle could be seen sliding across the road, quickly followed by Edmondson.
Officials treated Edmondson on scene before he was rushed to Mount Vernon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead within the hour.
