MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. ? A 16-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree assault, a felony, in connection with a shooting Wednesday night in which a man was hit in the leg, Mount Vernon Police said.
The shooting was reported at the intersection of S. 4th Avenue and W. 1st Street around 9:30 p.m. The victim, a 21-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-threatening injuries.
The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, was arrested near Roosevelt Square and N. 6th Ave. shortly after the incident.
