3 Weekend Shootings Investigated In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. — Mount Vernon Police are investigating two weekend shootings that left three men hospitalized.

Two men, one 26, the other 22, were shot Saturday night in front of 113 Franklin Ave., police said. The 26-year-old was shot in the right shoulder and right buttock, while the 22-year-old was shot in the right knee. Both men, whose names were not released, were transported to Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle.

A handgun was recovered near the site of the shooting, but police have not said if it was the weapon used in the attack.

Friday at 8 p.m., a 19-year old man was shot in the buttocks in an incident in the vicinity of the Doles Recreation Center, 250 S. 6th Ave. The victim was taken to Mount Vernon Hospital for treatment.

Police have yet to find those responsible for either shooting. They ask anyone with information to call 914-665-2510.
