Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Thursday that Yonkers resident Lamont McLean has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the armed robbery of two men.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. on July 26, 2016, McLean and Floyd Bruce, 19, were on Palisade Avenue in Yonkers after they approached two men in a parked car while armed with handguns. They went on to rob both men at gunpoint before fleeing the scene. Police investigators arrested both men the following day and a 22-caliber semiautomatic handgun was found in his possession.
McLean had been found guilty of two counts of first-degree robberies by a jury. Bruce is facing up to 25 years in prison after he shot a handgun, missed his intended target and struck a 4-year-old girl in the leg in a separate incident.
Following sentencing, McLean was remanded into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections. Bruce is scheduled to be sentenced on June 28 on charges that include felony counts of robbery, attempted assault and criminal possession of a controlled weapon.
