Sherry West Friedman, 91, Former Mount Vernon School Teacher

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Former Mount Vernon school teacher Sherry West Friedman died in hospice care in Baltimore, Md. on Monday, June 9. She was 91.

Friedman taught in the Mount Vernon school system from 1946 until her retirement in 1980 and was best known for running the yearly school musical.

After retiring, Friedman continued as a substitute teacher and as a tutor.

Friedman was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Lester Friedman.
