Raymond Quintal Sr., 79, Former Mt. Vernon Fire Captain

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Raymond Sylvester Quintal Sr., a former Mount Vernon Fire Department captain, died Oct. 17 after a battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 79.

Born Dec. 31, 1932, Quintal served as a platoon sergeant in Korea and worked as a pressman for King Lithography for many years. A Mount Vernon Fire Department captain for many years, he was also member of the Firemen’s Association. Quintal was most recently of Mancos, Colo.

He is survived by four children, Ken, Dan, Ray and Linda; a son-in-law Gregg; two daughters-in-law, Marie and Erika; five grandchildren and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace Ann.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Germonds Cemetery in New City, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local MS foundation.
