MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Nelida Caparelli of Mount Vernon died Dec. 17. She was 82.
She was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Argentina to Camillo and Cecelia Soria. She married Francesco Caparelli, who predeceased her.
Nelida Caparelli worked as a crossing guard for the Mount Vernon City School District.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Margaret) Caparelli of Rye Brook and Ruben (Donna) Caparelli; her sister, Lydia Lordi; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. A funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ursula's Church in Mount Vernon. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
