Myrtle Treanor, 94, Formerly Of Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Myrtle Treanor, a former Mount Vernon resident and Larchmont waitress, died Jan. 6. She was 94.

Treanor was born May 1, 1918, in the Bronx to Jacob and Mary Walsh Brengel. She married James Thomas Treanor in the Bronx on Sept. 6, 1936. In 1998, she moved from Mount Vernon to Mahopac.

She previously worked as a waitress at Carriage Inn in Larchmont.

Treanor is survived by four children, Thomas Treanor, Lorene Breese, Jean Zambelli and Phillip Treanor; and 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; four sisters, Edna, Lillian, Josephine and Christine; and four brothers, Jacob, Roy, Christian and Gene.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cargain Funeral Homes in Mahopac. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
