Maiorano was born May 9, 1920, in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, to Michelangelo and Arcangela Cipriano. She married Francesco Antonio Maiorano on March 6, 1941. They immigrated to the U.S. with their son in 1963. She enjoyed being with family and friends and gardening in the family's backyard.
She is survived by a son, Gaetano (Pasqualina) Maiorano, who she lived with for more than 45 years; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; and five sisters, Geralda Lucadamo, Filomena Dileo, Antonietta Valvano, Angelina Portanova and Adelina Valvano.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Yannantuono Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
