MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Karen Anne O'Brien, 71, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, May 25.
O’Brien was a registered dietitian. She worked extensively in the health industry, including Hempstead Hospital, Hospital for Special Surgery, New York Infirmary, and Union Hospital.
Most recently she was the registered dietitian for the City of Mount Vernon’s nutrition program.
O’Brien also taught classes at Hunter College, the New York Institute of Technology, Pratt Institute, and Queens College.
Survivors include her husband, Martin Rubin; a daughter, Sari Berman Hartman; and two brothers, Kevin O’Brien and Richard O’Brien.
Two sisters, Joan Dawson and Eileen Mills; and a brother, Robert O’Brien, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave., Yonkers.
