Josephine C. Sypher, 70, Formerly Of Mount Vernon

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Josephine C. Sypher, 70, of Yorktown Heights, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, March 15.

She was born April 22, 1944, to William and Frances McGuinness.

Sypher was an active parishioner at St. Ursula's Church in Mount Vernon for many years.

She was also a former member of the Emblem Club.

Survivors include her husband, Edward; two daughters, Kathleen Weiss and Maureen (Rodney) Ayotte; two sons, Robert (Regina) and Edward Jr. (Teresa); two sisters, Florence Puccio and Geraldine Camillo; one brother, Fred McGuinness; and eight grandchildren.

Four sisters, Joan McDonald, Mary Fiteni, Judith Ghelberg, and Frances Marrone, are deceased.

Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Yannantuono Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Ursula’s Church, 214 E. Lincoln Ave., Mount Vernon.
