John W. 'Jay' Kennedy, 39, New Rochelle Native

John W. "Jay" Kennedy, 39, of Brewster, formerly of Purdys, died suddenly on Monday, Oct. 2.

Born in New Rochelle, on Sept. 14, he was the son of William Kennedy and the late Mary Ann Fediw Kennedy.

Kennedy was the beloved of Liane V. Watkins and the devoted godfather of Ann McNamara and Oscar Watkins.

Musically gifted vocally and on the piano, Kennedy performed for many years at services in the old St. Joseph's gym. He loved being on stage and performed with bands and at karaoke all around the world. He also had an amazing sense of humor although as he often said: "some of these jokes are just for me." 

Kennedy loved his friends, family, and the NY Yankees. 

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, 2-4, and 7-9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6t. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave., Hastings-on-Hudson.
