MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - John Baiardi of Mount Vernon died Nov. 16. He was 72.
Baiardi was born Oct. 20, 1942, in New York City. He attended Archbishop Molloy High School, Fordham University, and the University of Bologna (Italy). He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He did his internship and residency training in psychiatry at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, and a fellowship in child psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital. He was associated with the Masterson Institute, New York City, and served at various hospitals in the New York Metropolitan area, including Nassau County Medical Center, Westchester Medical Center, and Bronx Lebanon Hospital. He finished his career as a civilian contractor to the U.S. Army in Bamberg, Germany.
Baiardi is survived by his wife, Cathy Martin Baiardi; daughter, Juliana (Jeffrey) Zengen; and three grandchildren.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fordham University for its scholarship fund.
