FLEETWOOD, N.Y. - James C. Smith of Fleetwood and formerly of Winchester, N.H., died Monday April 1. He was 40.
Smith was born Dec. 18, 1972, in Brattleboro, Vt., son of James Smith and Francis "Ginger" Glebus Smith. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1996 with a BA in journalism. He spent the last 10 years of his career as creative director at G2 in Manhattan, where he worked on campaigns for clients such as Liberty Mutual Insurance, Capital One Bank, Time Warner Cable, and did pro-bono work for the Starlight Foundation. Prior to G2 he was a copywriter at Rapp Collins Worldwide.
Smith is survived by his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Sophie; mother, Ginger Smith; father-in-law, Rich Basso; sister-in-law, Jessica Basso; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, James.
Calling hours are Friday, April 5, between 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Sinatra Memorial Home , 601 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers. The funeral will be Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Church in Crestwood.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established in the name of Sophia Rose Smith.
