MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Isaia (Saio) Di Leo of Mount Vernon died Saturday, May 28. He was 79.

Di Leo was born in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, on Dec. 3, 1936, to Angelo and Donata (Tota) Di Leo. He emigrated from Italy and worked as a skilled mason until retiring from Vernon Hills Corp.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Domenico; and three sisters, Rosa, Almerinda and Lucia.

Di Leo is survived by wife Francesca (Antoinette); a son John and his wife Lily; a daughter, Angela Sala and her husband, Joe; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Generoso and Francesco.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 1, from 4-8 p.m. at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Sts. Peter and Paul-St. Ursula Church in Mount Vernon.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dickstein Cancer Treatment Center, 2 Longview Ave., White Plains, NY 10601.
