MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Ira G. Shaw of Mount Vernon died Dec. 18. He was 84.
Shaw was born April 22, 1930, in Clarendon, Jamaica, to Edward and Margaret Shaw. He migrated to the state of Florida in 1950. In 1976, he bought a retail liquor store in Mount Vernon and later bought the entire block. He retired in 1988.
Shaw is survived by his children, Denise Edwards and John Shaw; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 26 from 7 to 9 pm. Services to be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 185 Lincoln Ave., New Rochelle. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27. Interment at the Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.
