MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Grace E. Bentley, a longtime Mount Vernon resident, died Nov. 2. She was 91.
Bentley was born Jan. 18, 1921, to Henry J. and Hazel Woodward Schmidt. She attended Mount Vernon schools and in 1947, she married Temple V. Bentley Jr., a World War II veteran. He died in 1975.
She retired from Richardson Merrill in 1986 and relocated to Harrison in 1996.
Bentley is survived by two children, Susan Gail (William) Halpern and Nicholas V. (Letty) Halpern. She was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Stroub; and a brother, Howard Schmidt.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Tuesday at Harrison Funeral Home. Interment will be held Wednesday at Kensico Cemetery.
