Gennarino Fioretti, 87, Longtime Mount Vernon Resident, WWII Veteran

BREWSTER, N.Y. - Gennarino “Jerry” Fioretti, most recently of Brewster, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Nov. 21. She was 87.

Fioretti was born Nov. 30, 1925, to John and Alessandriana Fioretti in the Bronx. He was a longtime resident of Mount Vernon and served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked as a truck driver. He was a long time member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks.

Fioretti is survived by his wife, Amelia “Nellie” (nee Loretoni) Fioretti; son, Gerald (Marion) Fioretti; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Cavalluzzi; and brother, Pasqaule Fioretti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25 at Holy Innocents R.C. Church, 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose, 2090 Albany Post Road, Montrose, NY, 10548.
