MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Gabriel C. Manganiello of Mount Vernon died Monday, July 15. He was 86.

Manganiello was born March 1, 1927, to Antonio and Orlanda (Russo) Manganiello in Avellino, Italy. He came to the United States in 1963 and settled in Mount Vernon. After coming to the United States he worked independently in construction. He then worked as a mason for the Mount Vernon Department of Public Works. He also established and owned four pizzeria restaurants until his retirement.

Manganiello is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters, Josephine and Diane; sons, Anthony and Mario, their spouses; in-laws; three grandchildren; and brother, Gaetano of New Rochelle. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Ornella; brothers, Giacomo and Verderico, of Mount Vernon, Mario; and sisters, Gaetana, Matilda, Leondina, and Angelina of Milan, Italy.

Calling hours are Thursday, July 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home , 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at St. Joseph's Church, Bronxville. Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
