MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Frances M. Cave, a longtime resident of Mount Vernon, died Dec. 13. She was 92.
Cave was born June 6, 1921, in Topeka, Kansas, to Pearl W. and Mayme Atchison Mack. She attended public schools in Topeka and was a graduate of the Homer G. Phillips School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. She received graduate degrees in nursing, social work and guidance, from Hunter College and New York University. She was employed by the City of New York as a social worker, vocational instructor and high school guidance counselor. She was a member of both First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon for many years serving as an elder and deacon and thereafter at Huguenot Memorial where she also served as a deacon.
Cave is survived by her son, Herbert (Belinda); daughter, LaVerne; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces, nephews; family; and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Dr. Herbert G. Cave; brother, Perle William Mack (Mary Ann).
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Huguenot Memorial Church, 901 Pelhamdale Ave., Pelham Manor.
