MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Esther (Dechant) Demilio of Mount Vernon died Aug. 16. She was 89.
Demilio was born May 10, 1924, to Jacob and Mary (Konradi) Dechant in Holcomb, Kansas. She worked as a registered nurse for Mount Vernon Hospital.
Demilio is survived by her children, Laura (James) Trotta of Bronxville; son, Lawrence DeMilio (Linda Gleason); sister, Florence Geier; brother, Manuel Dechant; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Vito DeMilio; and eight siblings.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Eastchester. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe.
