Arthur H. Mader, 75, Of Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Arthur H. Mader of Mount Vernon died Sept. 26. He was 75.

Mader was born in Brooklyn New York and graduated from the Brooklyn Technical High School. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He worked as a senior engineer in both the defense and medical technology industries.

Mader was organist and choir director for churches in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Westchester. He was Organist Emeritus of Trinity Lutheran Church in Scarsdale. He was a member of the Westchester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and a lifelong member of the Methodist church.

Mader is survived by his wife, Jean; brother-in-law, Ralph; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary; and brother, Sheldon.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 227 East Lincoln Ave., Mount Vernon Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Presbyterian Church of Livingston, 271 W. Northfield Road, Livingston, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
