MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Alfina Iovino of Mount Vernon died Nov. 12. She was 92.
Iovino was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Mount Vernon to Salvatore and Isabella (Costeri) Coschigano. She was married to Gennaro Iovino. She worked as a school crossing guard in Mount Vernon for 14 years. She retired in 1980.
Iovino is survived by her sons, Robert (Diana Pizzuti) and Jerry (Sylvia); and two granddaughters. She was predeceased by her sister, Lena Sposato; and brothers, Ciro, James, Eugene and Robert.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 14 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave., Mount Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at St Ursula's Church.
