MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - A winter storm blew through Mount Vernon Wednesday night leaving minimal damage.
The storm knocked over a stop sign on Grand Street by Hussey Street leading to the Cross County Parkway in Mount Vernon.

Photo Credit: Greg MakerThe National Weather Service reported 20 mile per hour winds, which are expected to continue Thursday afternoon with a 40 percent chance of rain.
The temperature at 11:30 a.m. Thursday was 38 degrees but was predicted to drop to a low of 27 degrees with 20 mile per hour winds continuing.
