What's Open And Closed In Mount Vernon On Memorial Day

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Here is a list of public places around Mount Vernon that will be closed during Memorial Day weekend.

There will be several public places closed during Memorial Day weekend in Eastchester and Bronxville.

City of Mount Vernon

  • City Hall will be closed on Monday.
  • The Mount Vernon Public Library will be open.
  • Mount Vernon schools will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday.
  • The Mount Vernon Post Office will be closed on Monday.
  • Wilson’s Waves at Wilson’s Woods Park will be closed until June.
  • On the north side, yard waste will be picked up on Tuesday and Garbage will be picked up on Wednesday.
  • On the south side, garbage pick up will be on Tuesday, with yard waste on Wednesday.

 

Metro-North Railroad will have several extra trains on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines on Friday for those looking to get an early start on the weekend. Trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday, while they will be on a Sunday schedule on Monday with one extra inbound train to Grand Central Station.
