What's Open And Closed In Mount Vernon On Labor Day

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y.-- Here is a list of public places around Mount Vernon that will be open and closed on Labor Day.

Many government offices and local businesses will be closed or operating on special schedules for Labor Day

What's Closed:

City Hall will be closed on Monday.
The Mount Vernon Public Library will be closed.
Mount Vernon schools will be closed
The Mount Vernon Post Office will be closed.
All local state and federal offices
Most banks (call ahead to see if your bank is open)

What's Open:

Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, liquor stores and other retail locations are open. However, these places may be operating on a Sunday schedule or special holiday hours. It’s a good idea to call ahead before heading out to any of these establishments.

Trains

If you’re planning a trip via Metro-North Railroad, extra getaway trains are planned for Friday. The regular weekend schedule will be in effect Saturday and Sunday. Also, the Sunday schedule will be in effect Monday.
