The digital conversion project will affect customers in Mount Vernon, Staten Island and Bergen County that have a cable line directly plugged into their televisions.

In June, the company is transitioning all analog channels in the basic television package to an all-digital signal. By doing so, Time Warner will free up bandwidth on the network, which will provide improved picture and sound quality, as well as faster service and Internet speeds, the company says.

Free digital adapters are being provided by Time Warner to help customers prepare for the switch. A digital adapter is a small device that will allow digital signals to be displayed on the television and comes with an easy-to-use remote control, said Time Warner officials.

Customers can get the digital adapter and self-install kit online or by calling 1-855-286-1736.
