'Significant' Delays: Update On Months-Long Sprain Parkway Lane Closures

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Motorists planning on traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway can expect slight delays as bridge construction work continues in the area.

According to officials, “significant” traffic delays are anticipated. 

The New York State Department of Transportation has issued an alert to motorists, advising that due to bridge construction work, the parkway, between Route 100C and I-287 in Greenburgh will be reduced from three lanes in each direction to two, beginning on Monday, Aug. 21.

The lane reductions are expected to last three months, until Monday, Nov. 20, when traffic will return to normal.

Additionally, there will be temporary overnight lane closures on the southbound lanes from 6 to 10 p.m. beginning on Aug. 14. There will be northbound closures from 7 to 11 p.m. Lanes are expected to be reopened by 7 p.m., lasting through Friday, Aug. 18.
