A registered sex offender convicted of committing a sexual offense out of the state has reported a move into Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 49-year-old Noel Smith, who has moved to an apartment on South Third Street in Mount Vernon.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Smith as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Smith had sexual contact and intercourse with his 28-year-old victim in 1997. He was convicted of felonious sexual offense in New Jersey in 2000 and convicted to a term of five years probation.
