A registered "predicate" sex offender convicted of having sexual contact with a 9-year-old boy has reported a move in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 45-year-old Patrick Slater, who has moved to an apartment on Cooley Place in Mount Vernon.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Slater as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a predicate sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Slater had sexual contact with his victim in 1996 and he was convicted of a non-New York State felony offense. Following his arrest by the FBI, he was sentenced to a term of between three and 168 months in state prison. Slater had also previously been convicted of second-degree sodomy. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.

Further info on Slater from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services can be accessed after entering the code in the CAPTCHA box found by clicking here.
