The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 45-year-old Patrick Slater, who has moved to an apartment on Cooley Place in Mount Vernon.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Slater as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a predicate sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Slater had sexual contact with his victim in 1996 and he was convicted of a non-New York State felony offense. Following his arrest by the FBI, he was sentenced to a term of between three and 168 months in state prison. Slater had also previously been convicted of second-degree sodomy. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.
