Between limos, dresses, tuxedo rentals and flowers, proms can become an expensive endeavor. Operation Prom is taking some of the burden off of families by offering mostly new and gently used evening wear at their event.

Girls can find modern dresses and men can get free tuxedo rentals by filling out an application form online. The applications requests basic information, including dress size, grade point average and the name of a guidance counselor, social worker or school administrator.

Dress give-aways will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Westchester County Center; at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the College of New Rochelle and at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Yonkers Riverfront Library. A final giveaway will be at 10 a.m. on April 19 at the Peekskill DSS District Office.

There are a limited number of tuxedos available. Students that fill out the application form will be told whether to go to Men’s Warehouse in White Plains or Scarsdale for a fitting.
