Lawmakers in New York are once again trying to push through legislation making it illegal to drive a snow-covered car on the road, according to multiple reports.

Four bills lingering in the Senate and Assembly are now scheduled for vote, reports syracuse.com.

If passed, drivers could be ticketed $150 for having 3 inches of snow or ice on their cars and $1,200 if a weather-covered car is involved in an accident, according to syracuse.com.

Similar laws are on the books in neighboring New Jersey and Connecticut.
