MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. All public buildings in Mount Vernon will be closed for the Labor Day weekend, and yard waste pickup will be moved back a day.
All government offices and Post Offices in Mount Vernon will be closed Monday in observance of the federal holiday. Additionally, the Mount Vernon Public Library will be closed on Monday.
Yard waste pickups will be Tuesday instead of Monday, and garbage pickups will be Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Recycling will be Friday as usual.
Yard waste and garbage must be placed at the curb before 7:30 a.m. pickup.
