MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. ? Mount Vernon has announced that city crews will begin a thorough assessment of damage from Hurricane Sandy.
With power back on and sunny weather ahead, the Department of Public Works will inspect sidewalks, remove remaining storm debris and address other damage.
"We came together to help one another, building new bonds that can only make us stronger as a community," a press release from the city said. "Mount Vernon rose to the occasion, demonstrating what we always knew ? that we are a community of good and caring people in The City That Believes."
