Maureen Walker, the city’s comptroller, and newly elected Mayor Richard Thomas traded jabs over security issues at City Hall, according to lohud and other media outlets.
Walker said the checks, which are used to pay vendors and suppliers, are always kept in a vault in her office, while Thomas, insisting that his office was not at fault, said all checks and documents are carefully logged in, the lohud article said.
