MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon Police are investigating the death of an infant who stopped breathing in bed on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to LoHud.com

Laura Neville noticed her 5-week old son was not breathing around 10 a.m. on Sunday and called a relative who began CPR on the child. The family called 911 shortly after. The child was taken to Mount Vernon Hospital where it was pronounced dead, according to LoHud.com.

Police are treating the incident as a suspicious death, which does not necessarily mean criminal activity was involved, LoHud.com reported.
