Mount Vernon Officials Want Nypd Explanations

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The City Council has serious questions for the New York Police Department after two men who allegedly identifying themselves as NYPD officers broke into a Mount Vernon couple’s home, LoHud.com reported.

Mount Vernon Police confirmed that the NYPD was conducting an undercover operation in the city when shots rang out and two men were injured, with the bystander, Felix Kumi of Mount Vernon, suffering fatal wounds.

City Council President Marcus Griffith had a news conference last week demanding answers to that and other issues between the city and the NYPD, LoHud.com said.

Griffith wants New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton to meet with officials from Mount Vernon to discus Mount Vernon officials' concerns, LoHud.com said.
