The summit takes place Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, with a theme of "Building Wealth, Creating Economic Opportunities in Africa."
“I hope the collaborating agencies will work together to ensure the economic growth of all communities," said Thomas. "This summit will help bring our business partners together and ensure future collaborations from Mount Vernon to Ghana.”
Thomas announced his support after a conference call with the Association of Ghana Industries, the U.S. Embassy in Ghana and around 20 business owners.
“I was glad to be a part of the Bridge to Africa conference call," said Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce President Dwayne Brown. "The excitement of the business community to engage with the participants of the summit will be a true Mount Vernon moment for all involved.”
“This coalition of business leaders and government officials to bring economic opportunities and wealth in Africa is the step in the right direction," Councilman Yuhanna Edwards said. "I am excited to see the flourishing relationship between the country of Ghana and Mount Vernon.”
