Dear Mount Vernon residents,

A little over a year ago, the residents of Mount Vernon elected four Mount Vernon Library trustees. Those trustees were Oscar Davis, Linda Byrant, Brian Johnson, and the Rev. Darren Morton.

In one year, we have made tremendous strides in restoring our library to its original grandeur. Some of the items we have worked towards was having The Central Library status restored, improvement to our WIFI speed for patron mobile devices, renovation to the front and rear entrance of the library, increasing reading and computer programs.

We also expanded our museum passes and many more. There is still a lot more to accomplish. Please partner with the Board of Trustees on June 2 to elect (one) trustee and to vote on the budget. Together, we can continue to improve the services we offer to make our library the strong institution it once was.

Although my seat is not up for re-election, please vote to continue the progress we have made thus far. Election Day is Tuesday, at the Mount Vernon Public Library from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Community Room.

For more information, please contact the library at (914)- 668-1840 ext. 223. Thanks for your continuous support.
