MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Gas line installation on South 2nd Street should be complete by 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Persico Contracting workers.
South 2nd Street remained closed Saturday afternoon between South 1st Avenue and South 2nd Avenue near Unity Baptist Tabernacle Church as crews finished the work, which they had previously completed on Union Avenue, a parallel street.
The Mount Vernon Police Department had one officer standing on South 2nd Avenue redirecting traffic.
