Mount Vernon DPW Revises Schedules For The Holidays

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- In anticipation of the Holidays, The Mount Vernon Department of Public Works has made changes to parking rules as well as garbage and recycling collection.

Garbage collection schedules will be altered in Mount Vernon this week due to the holiday.

Regular Wednesday pickup of recyclable bottles, cans and plastics, on the Southside will be on Thursday, Dec. 24. Regular Friday pickup of garbage and rubbish on the Northside will also be on Thursday.

There are no pickups on Friday, Dec. 25.

Alternate side of the street parking will be suspended on Christmas Day.
