MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Mount Vernon officials said work crews have completed 65 percent of priority clearances so far.
Con Edison crews are working around the clock to restore power, the city said. Seventy percent of city residents lost service during Hurricane Sandy.
Power is being restored to more customers every hour, the city said, but it will take time to get everyone back up and running.
"We know that there are situations out there that need our attention," the city said in a news release. "We will be getting to each and every one of them sooner than later."
